The Schiffchen am Kornmarkt (Little Boat on the Corn Market) is a landmark building in Zwickau. It is remarkable for its highly individual floor plan which veers off at strange angles. The original was built in the 15th century and incorporated features of the late Gothic and early Renaissance architectural styles.
On the front gable, you can see an anchor entwined with rope - the trademark of the rope maker. The present-day Schiffchen is, however, a replica made in 1968 from salvaged materials after the original was demolished.
