Since 1896, the Erzgebirgszweigverein Zwickau has sought to make the so-called Knappengrund (miners' country) more beautiful.
As such, the club's members have planted trees and bushes, laid new walkways and built a wrought-iron pavilion on the raised right-hand bank of the Mulde.
To this very day, the Muldenwarte viewpoint perched atop a small hill offers stunning views over the city and its river. Visitors can enjoy views of the Mulde-Paradies park, Schloss Osterstein and the Zwickau corn house.
