Exactly where Audi was founded, the completely redesigned museum has been presenting Zwickau's multi-faceted automotive history since 2004.
This ranges from August Horch, who in 1904 founded brands such as Horch and Audi, to Auto Union and the Trabant and today VW.
Visitors will not only find unique cars like the Audi Alpine Winner, the DKW F 1 or Trabant prototypes. It is the staging in particular that puts the automobiles in a special light: The vehicles are arranged at a historically recreated gas station or in front of a hotel. You can also discover a street with a corner shop and toy store.
The Kontor building provides an insight into production in great-grandfather's time. Fully functional machines with transmission drive bring a long gone production time to life.
